Christmas Already….

I know its too early to start thinking about Christmas right?  Well not if you are me…. I’ve already started getting some inquiries from my *experienced* clients that have already done the holiday drill in the past wanting information on sessions etc….  I haven’t finalized all the details yet, but I will be offering at least two mini session dates, most likely in the Tampa area.  Once the details are worked out I will post here on the blog, so be sure to subscribe if you want to be one of the first to know.  They will be booked on a first come first serve basis.  I also have very few spots left in October for my regular sessions before the holiday deadline of November 1st, so go ahead and contact me if you want to schedule one.I will be offering a new set of holiday cards this year as well, if you’ve had a session with me earlier this year and wish to order cards with one of your images please send me an email at jennifer@jennifergriffinphotography.com for more information.

Daddy’s Girl….

I didn’t have the honor of meeting this little *Daddy’s Girl* because he is serving in the military.  This little girl is so lucky to have such a strong beautiful mom and proud big sister.  At the time of her maternity session it did not look like daddy would be able to be home for her birth, I was so excited to get an email saying that he was granted a leave at the very last minute and was able to be there for her birth, although he was only home for a few short days before returning to duty.   Its amazing to see such strong families that put their lives completely on hold to serve our country, so to the *M* family thank you for all your sacrifices, I hope you are all home together real soon.  baby *m* 8 days oldkm1.jpg (the above shot was inspired by another photographer out of state, but when I saw it I knew I wanted to try it….my grandparents had a chicken farm when I was a kid, and I can remember collecting eggs in these baskets many many times… wish I would have done this with my twins…)km2.jpg km3-copy.jpgBaby *m* in mommy’s tummy…. 2 weeks before her arrival. km41.jpg

what a difference 6 months makes…

Meet my original basket baby,  little *C*, he was so sleepy for me at his newborn session, basically let me put him in or on whatever I wanted to take his picture.  This was one of my favorite images from his session and I have been asked many many times to duplicate it for other clients… everyone just loves it.  coopnewborn.jpg  Well, he recently came back to see me for this six month session and let me just tell you his mommy is feeding him well.  Here is little *C* in the same basket, I’m thinking he will have to sit on it instead of in it for his one year picture….. :) coop6mo.jpgAnd one, just because I love it!  Isn’t he adorable! coop6mo2.jpg

newborn + twins…

I’m often asked what is my favorite age or relationship to photograph and to be honest just about anyone that will let me take their picture is my favorite but I do especially love babies & children, that is why I started my business.  So when I was contacted to do a newborn and 2.5 year old twin session I was thrilled.  There is nothing more perfect than a newborn baby and being a mom of twins I just love to capture the connection and special bond between them and see what I get to look forward too, so this session was lots of fun for me. Meet little *E* he was such a good little poser for me, I just love everything about this.  w_049.jpg And little *H* and *R* were so much fun to photograph, *R* was a bit shy at first but her brother knew how to make her smile.   w_019.jpg

Ultimate Baby Shower!

I will be participating in the Ultimate Baby Shower tomorrow at Seedlings on Dale Mabry in Tampa.  I’ll have lots of prints on display and I’d love for you to stop by, it will be lots of fun if you are expecting or if you have a little one.  picture-3.jpg

sweet little one…

This little guy was so adorable and he was so content when he was awake, just letting me shoot away.  I just love this one in his Daddy’s arms.  He was so good to me.  Welcome to the world little *J* and congrats Mom & Dad, he is just perfect!jh.jpgjh2.jpg

Looking for a *new* location to do a session?

Besides “what should we wear?”,  the next question I am asked most often is “can you recommend a location?” if the client is looking for something other than studio images.  My usual response is the beach, a park or garden like Hollis Gardens in Lakeland or a downtown urban setting.  Well I have another one to add to my list.  We recently went to the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World to celebrate my girls’ first birthday and I was dying to take some pictures of them.  I only got a few on Mainstreet as we were leaving because it had been a very long day with a short power nap but I can’t wait to go back just to do a session with them in the the fun little places like the candy store and at Minnie’s house.  Disney is full of color and textures which makes the perfect location to do a session with your little pirate or princess.   Shoot me an email if you are interested in scheduling a session at the Happiest place on earth after all nothing screams childhood like Disney dsc_0553-ed-lr.jpgdsc_0576-ed2-lr.jpgdsc_0410-ed-lr.jpgdsc_0414-ed-lr.jpgdsc_0422-d-lr.jpg

Sharing my excitement!

I’m happy to share some exciting news with you.  My work was recently published in the June issue of Tampa Bay Parenting Magazine.  I’m even more excited because one of the images they chose to use is of my daughter Addi.  :)  They also used one of my newborn images with an article on page 13.  You can view the entire magazine at www.tbparenting.com or you can pick up a copy at various locations around Tampa Bay, including Publix Supermarkets, Tampa area YMCA’s and Panera Bread. tbparenting1.jpg  tbparenting2.jpg tbparenting3.jpg

Sand between your toes…

Its about that time of year, time to get some sand between your toes. :) I’ve started to get lots of inquiries about beach sessions, so I thought I’d post a storyboard from a recent session with a beautiful family at Fort Desoto Park.  Another beach location I love is Anna Maria Island.  Beach sessions are so much fun for the entire family, especially the kids.  Feel free to email me if you’d like information about scheduling a beach session, but don’t wait too long, my calendar is full for May and I’m already booking mid to late June.  beach.jpg

Dance, Dance, Dance…

I just love to watch the little ones grow up, from being in Mommy’s tummy to getting their groove on.   I’ve had the pleasure of photographing little “P” five times now and he is always such a pleasure, but his personality is really starting to shine.  I love it when I finish a session and feel like I accomplished my goal of capturing their personalities.  This is one happy little guy!  pkr-stb.jpg pkr-eyes.jpg
